Chantelle has since reverted to a fine art style, which allows more freedom of expression. In particular she focuses on realism. Because she spent as much of her youth as possible in the bushveld, close to nature. Chantelle developed her love for wildlife, making mental studies of animals, their behaviour and their environment.

Chantelle is privileged to have travelled to both England and France to exhibit and sell her artworks. Chantelle has settled in Cape Town where she thoroughly enjoys living and working as a full time artist, taking working holidays up north for photo excursions.

Recent marine-life artworks have been painted from photographs kindly supplied by Morné Hardenberg from Shark Explorers (

She has also had many group exhibitions at Kirstenbosch Gardens and sold work to visitors from various countries. A number of her works have been done on a commission basis at clients request.

''My first love is to portray wildlife, in its natural habitat. I strive to capture the emotions of my subjects, and stir the imagination of the viewer, to make the images come alive and provoke thoughts. My love for nature and art is combined in each piece of work that I do.''

Chantelle's preferred media includes oil on canvas and pencil on paper.
